Ingredients - Hot Dog:
-
1 cup of thinly sliced onion
-
1 tbsp of BBQ sauce (plus extra to serve)
-
½ cup of all purpose flour
-
Oil for frying
-
Salt
-
4 hot dog buns
Ingredients - Coleslaw:
-
2 tbsp of mayonnaise
-
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
-
½ tbsp garlic powder
-
½ tbsp salt
-
¼ tbsp black pepper
-
2 cups finely shredded red cabbage
Let's Get Started
Step1:
In a bowl, toss the onions with some bbq sauce to mix it all together. This can then be left on the countertop under cling film or be placed in the fridge to marinade for at least 20 minutes
Step2:
While this is marinating, you can start making the coleslaw. You can do this by combining the apple cider vinegar, the mayonnaise, the garlic powder and the salt and pepper. Whisk these together and then add the shredded red cabbage. Toss them to cover the cabbage. Leave this covered in the fridge until you are ready to serve with the hot dogs.
Step3:
Once your onions have finished marinating, place the onions in a resealable plastic bag with your flour. Once you have done this you then shake the bag to coat the onions.
Step4:
One the previous step has been completed you can heat up your oil in a skillet or frying pan and fry until the onions and coating have turned a golden brown and crunchy. After you have removed them from the oil you can then coat the onions in a small amount of salt.
Step5:
Heat up your BBQ to a medium to high heat and place your sausages on the grill. Turn these occasionally to make sure they are cooked all the way through.
Step6:
Once all the previous steps have been done you can move onto the next step which is assembling your beautiful creation. You start this by opening a hot dog bun and inserting the sausage. After you have done this you can then add a few spoons of coleslaw on top of that. Finish your Loaded BBQ Hot dogs witht he onions and some extra BBQ sauce and then you are ready to serve.
